The tour kickoff of the Visions Tour in Berlin felt like a confident new chapter for Alice
Merton. From the first notes of Coasting, the energy in the room was immediately electric but
intimate, powerful yet warm.
The setlist leaned heavily into her new era, including several live debuts: Mirage, Boogie
Man, On the Wire, and Marigold. The audience reacted with curiosity and excitement, fully
embracing the darker, more layered sound of her latest album, Visions, which was released
January 16th. Her dedicated fans took over the front row, knowing every single lyric by heartrefreshingly
proving this era has already found ist people.
Between songs, she effortlessly switched between English and German, creating a relaxed,
personal atmosphere. At one point, she mentioned she had recently started playing lefthanded
bass - a small detail that showed her ongoing evolution as a musician.
A standout moment came during the acoustic version of Back to Berlin, which the fans
decided her to sing. It was especially fitting for the opening night in Berlin. Classics
like Vertigo, Treasure Island, and I Don’t Hold a Grudge kept the crowd fully engaged, before
she closed the night with her breakthrough hit No Roots - still as powerful and defiant as ever.
Stylish, confident, and vocally flawless, Alice didn’t just kick off a tour — she set the tone for
what’s to come. If this opening night is any indication, the Visions Tour is set to be something
truly special, with plenty of European shows lined up throughout March.
