Cory Wong, best known as a guitarist for the funk group Vulfpeck, is currently out on his Lost in the Wonder tour, bringing his solo work to life on stage. While much of his catalog leans instrument or features guest vocalist that didn't stop the crowd from dancing, moving and enjoying the music.

They had some amazing musical moments including, saxophone solos, a surprising flute feature and a sense of playfulness that carried throughout the entire set. Wong’s performance was not just about the technical skill set he carries. It was about the connection he has with the musicians he's playing with and the crowd. He consistently shouted out his bandmates creating an atmosphere of mutual respect and celebration that felt genuine.

Rather than a rigid structured performance, the show felt like a group of friends coming together to make incredible music. Cory and the other musicians were constantly moving around, dancing, feeding off of each other's energy. That looseness worked in their favor, giving the night an easy and welcoming vibe that drew in the audience.

A highlight of the show came when the full ensemble broke into a cover of “Bennie and the Jets” instantly igniting the cord. The audience eagerly sang along and turned the moment into a shared enjoyable experience.

Beyond the music, Wong also took the time to give back. Midway through the show he pushed to give away a guitar as part of his partnership with Free Guitars 4 Kids, an initiative that donates instruments to children in need at every stop of the tour. This is funded through ticket sales and the program supports young musicians and their creative journeys. Watching the receipts reaction was a reminder of music's impact beyond the state and brought a collective smile to the room.  Wong’s Lost in the Wonder tour is more than just a display of musical talent, it is a celebration of collaboration, joy. and community.
