From impressive vocals and constant jumping to crowdsurfing, fan-picked songs, and even a few selfies, the night had everything a fan could hope for.

With no opener, the crowd was thrown straight into the moment as the first guitar riffs of ‘Blonde’ filled the room. Within seconds, fans were jumping and singing along, showing exactly what kind of night we were in for.

As a band that effortlessly jumps from pop-punk to emo rap in a heartbeat, you might wonder if the vocals would hold up throughout the night with such a diverse setlist. The answer is simple: they absolutely did. From high notes and long holds to steady rap sections, the vocals stayed strong all night.

With a setlist structured around different emotions, happiness, sadness, anticipation, and anger, Waterparks brought the crowd some new songs and took them back in time with some oldies. During the happiness section you could hear everyone scream along to the hit ‘Stupid for You’.

At one point the crowd was asked to choose between ‘Peach’ and ‘Telephone’, with  ‘Telephone’ winning the battle. Throughout the night there were several more moments where the crowd could pick their favourite, giving them a chance to mix up the setlist. Judging by the energy in the room, though, they would have loved anything and everything.

Fans also shouted out their favourite songs, and some of them got lucky. During the acoustic set, frontman Austin played an impressive number of songs on guitar, including ‘Mad All the Time’, ‘It Follows’, ‘21 Questions’, and even the Demo ‘CALL ME BEEP ME’.

By the time the show reached the anticipation section, the band had already hinted at a new album on the way. So what could be better than teasing new music? Exactly, nothing! Waterparks played ‘PROWLER’ and to both my surprise and the band’s, there were already fans who knew the words to the song.

Not once throughout the night could you hear a pin drop. The crowd matched the band’s energy from start to finish, making it an unforgettable evening. One thing is certain: both the fans and the band are eager for Waterparks to return to the Netherlands. With a new album on the horizon, that moment might come sooner than we think.
